The Lakewood Ranch Jazz Band program is comprised of outstanding student musicians who are eager to learn and perform JAZZ - the true AMERICAN music art form.

The Jazz Bands will play music that fulfills our requirement for Jazz Ensemble I, II and Combo as a Class BB school for the Florida Bandmaster's Association. Improvisation and Stage performance are required for the FBA Jazz MPA. This group will rehearse during the class day with scheduled extra-curricular rehearsals as district assessments approach. Mr. Schaer and Mr. Lambert will choose the saxes, bones, trumpets and rhythm section members for the Jazz I MPA Ensemble. We will have a second Jazz Band that is for less experienced Jazzers interested in honing their jazz skills. This group will also be featured at the Jazz Band MPA in February. Everyone is invited to enroll in the Jazz Band class!
